Mi Amigo: Rusty Surfboards
Mi Amigo
We have been testing a lot of different twinfin designs for a while now, but over the last 3-4 months, one design has become a clear favorite. The Mi Amigo was created with one foot in the past and the other in today’s progression. The Mi Amigo has a lower rocker built to accelerate and drive quickly. It has a fuller outline with a tighter wing-swallow tail that provides hold and stability in various conditions. The Mi Amigo has an updated bottom to take advantage of the twinfin’s natural maneuverability. Through various testing, the Mi Amigo has appealed to all different types of surfers and the response has been unanimous, “This thing is my best friend”. Everyone needs a Mi Amigo in their quiver, just be careful, your other boards may get jealous.

Torsion Spring Technology: Ideal Conditions
SAN DIEGO, California – Want to know when the Torsion Spring Technology works best? Torsion Spring Technology works great from knee high all the way to double overhead plus and exact conditions will of course vary on the board model in which the Torsion Spring is applied. TST will make you surf faster, quicker and looser with lots of drive. It will outlast your strongest board and yet it will be lightest in your quiver. “Torsion Spring is an awesome new technology, it has an incredible flex responds really well on carves and also on airs,” said Rusty Surfboards team rider Lucas Silveira. Silveira continued, “I was impressed how fast it is and the spring back from the turns get you always with lots of speed. It is light but barely compressed. The board’s pretty strong, I’m stoked!”
Check out Kevin Schulz rip on the Model 8 in TST in the video above!

Rusty Preisendorfer: Stab in the Dark Series

Stab in the Dark was just released a couple of weeks ago and gained a lot of attention in the surf world. As a basic summary, Stab Magazine gets one of the best surfers in the world (this year it was Dane Reynolds) and has the best surfboard shapers in the world shape a board for the surfer to see who’s board is the best. The twist? No-one knows who the surfer is until the project is completed and the boards that are shaped have no logos or branding on them so the surfer has no clue who shaped the boards he rides. Pretty interesting stuff. See the film here. Continue reading…
